Why you need Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor in your life!

“There’s more to life than hair, but its a good place to start.”

This is the Aussie Philosophy, and I for one, am here for it!

Strong, shiny and healthy hair is something i guarantee every guy and gal would like to have. Who wants a damaged mane?

My whole life, my hair has been thick and frizzy. And quite long, because no matter how many times I cut it, it always grows back within two weeks or so. And there’s no way I can take the plunge and chop it all off. Therefore, I have always struggled to find good quality hair products that will work. I have grown bored and tiresome of the many products from brands I have tried that do not deliver their claims. For example, some products promise to give ‘smooth and sleek shiny hair’  or claim to ‘reduce frizz’, but ended up doing a big fat nothing to my hair. In fact, a few times, these products have made my hair even more frizzy or created more tangles, which is a nightmare!

Then I discovered the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor treatment and I feel like getting down on my knees and thanking the lord for blessing me and the rest of the world with this product. Firstly, I’d like to say that this picture shows the old packaging of this product. There is now a new design on the bottle, which I don’t like as much, but hey ho its about whats inside!!

As described before, my hairtype is thick and frizzy. I would also say it is coarse, dry and prone to tangles. When I use this in my hair, I leave it in for the recommended 3 minutes whilst i’m in the shower. Afterwards, my hair feels so soft! The rough cuticles in my hair are smooth.  Although, the frizz in my hair is not magically gone, it is considerably reduced. I really feel like it smooths away the flyaways in my hair and makes it feel more lightweight. My hair is miles easier to style and manage too. This product makes me feel confident in the way my natural hair looks, and doesn’t make me feel like I have to straighten it, which is a big big thing for me.

The only flaw of this product is that it doesn’t seem to help tangled hair, but we can’t have everything in life right?

I believe the key ingredient in this product which makes it incredible is the Australian Balm Mint Extract. Aussie claims that Australian Balm Mint is so amazing that the guy who first brought it back from Australia called it ‘The elixir of life’. Impressive stuff.

Also, the smell of this treatment is unbelievably good! One of my favourite smells ever! I actually get ridiculously excited to put this into my hair.

I rate this product 10/10, and for £4.99 from Superdrug, you cannot go wrong 🙂 I will repurchase for life!

Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream REVIEW

Hello lovely people 🙂

I have been obsessed with Charlotte Tilbury for years. If any of you are unaware of who she is, she is a british makeup artist who has years of experience and has worked with celebrities such as Kate Moss, Cara Delevingne, Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz. Her brand consists of luxury skincare and makeup, all of which I am in awe of!

Today I am reviewing her magic cream, for which I was kindly given a sample by a friend of mine. This product is probably what Charlotte is famous for, as she used it backstage on models to perk and plump up their tired stressed out skin into youthful magic! It also has SP15, woohoo!charlotte tilbury magic cream sample

CT cream

The texture of this is a thick white cream, but when applied to the skin it feels quite lightweight and absorbs easily. It definitely feels luxurious on the skin and gives the skin a lovely glow. After applied, I cannot even tell you how rich and nourished my skin feels.

HOWEVER, you are going to need a lot of this product to feel properly hydrated. My skin is very dry and 1-2 layers of this on my skin was not enough to provide adequate moisture. I had to apply 3-4 layers to feel the effect on my whole face and neck. This is a bit of a downfall for those of you who want a moisturiser which is quick and easy to apply, for when you are in a rush. In addition, the cost of this is £70 which I think is way too much money for what it is. True, you get 50ml in the full size product rather than the usual 30-40ml you find in a lot of moisturisers, I still think this is too much money.

In my opinion, this cream is perfect for people with normal, normal-dry and combination skin. I say this because on my very dry skin, i needed a lot of it and then on oily skin, I can imagine it may be a bit much.

If you can get your hands on a sample, definitely do because to pay £70 upfront without trying the product first might be a risk.

OOTD-Shopping day

Hello my beauties,

This is my first ever fashion post! Finally!!!

I had been meaning to do a blogpost dedicated to fashion since I started my blog, but I decided I wanted to focus on writing about makeup first and so I just never got round to doing it.

But today I went for a shopping trip with my sister and yes I probably should have done some Uni Work instead but this is the last time we can go out together for a very long time since she works most saturdays 😦

Here’s what I wore:

2nd dress pic

This dress is from River Island. I just adore all the ruffled frills on the dress, as I think it makes it unique compared to just a simple grey dress. I believe this dress retails for £50 although I managed to find it in the sales for £25. I am only 5ft 1, therefore if you are taller than me, this dress will show up shorter 🙂 This dress is made of a thick heavy material and it kept me very warm which is perfect for the freezing cold weather we are experiencing in the UK right now!

3rd dress pic

I just wore it with some plain black loafers and a Louis V Bag.

Thankyou for reading xxx

REVIEW of the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask

Hey everyone,
In the Asian Beauty world, sheet masks are a very popular element of skincare. Some Korean girls use a sheet mask every night, which probably explain their clear, porcelain gorgeous skin. However, quite frankly, I don’t think i would have the time to apply a mask every night, but 2-3 times a week? I could definitely do that. The ingredients found in these masks range from juices from plant extracts, fruits, vitamin E, vitamins and other natural ingredients. They are supposed to hydrate and brighten the skin and give your skin a fresh feel.

The mask I am going to be focusing on today is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask. After watching some of my favourite youtuber’s talk about this in their monthly favourites videos, I thought it was about time I went to Boots and bought one. There are 3 different types available, a Revitalising mask, a Soothing mask and a Rebalancing mask. I picked up the Soothing mask, because I was drawn in by the key ingredient in this, of which is Chamomile extract. Chamomile is wonderful for the skin because it has anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and antibacterial extracts and contains essential oils and antioxidants. These effects are great for preventing breakouts and acne inflammation. Along with Chamomile, this mask also has the key ingredient of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic acid has the ability to deliver lasting moisture to the skin. A molecule of Hyaluronic acid is too large to penetrate the top layer of the skin, therefore it is able to sit on the skins surface and hold moisture well, so that your skin can absorb it, helping skin to stay hydrated.

The sheet mask consists of two layers, one is the actual mask and the other is a protective blue film. The mask is meant to be applied to the face, and then the blue film peeled off. I found this step a bit too hard because it is so slippery, but I managed eventually. The tissue mask actually sits on the skin quite well, and you can use your fingers to adjust it to fit your face evenly. The only thing, is that the openings in the mask for your eyes and mouth are a bit small, so if you have big eyes or lips, you may find this tricky.

The actual tissue mask is bathed in a cocktail of skin saving ingredients, but because of the tissue texture, it doesn’t drip and is locked into the skin well. I cannot even tell you guys how incredible the mask feels on your face. Its super hydrating and refreshing, as if your skin is having a luxury bath. The serum absorbs into the skin really well and feels amazing if your skin is dry/dehydrated prior to applying the mask. It’s also a very cooling effect which is great for refreshing the skin. I could imagine that putting this into the fridge before use would feel even better. My skin feels tighter too, which contributes to skin being toned and firm.

It is recommended that this mask is to be left on for 15 minutes, which is what I have been sticking too, but I honestly want to leave it on for longer because it feels that good. To take it off, all you need to do is peel it off and tadah, your skin is moisturised and softer than before. There tends to be excess serum on my face after I take the mask off, which I just rub into my skin to give extra moisture.

I absolutely love how I don’t have to rinse off this mask with water like you would with other masks, and you can use these masks up to 3 times. I could imagine that these would be super convenient for on the plane, when you’re travelling.
These retail at £2.99 from Boots.

Let’s talk… Makeup Revolution Highlighters

Hello everyone,
Today’s post is all about Makeup Revolution Highlighters. Makeup Revolution is my favourite drugstore brand and I am amazed at the quality of their products for the price. Highlighter is a trend that has become so so popular in the last two years I’d say, and almost every makeup brand now has their own take on the highlighter. I just love the glow and illuminated look that highlighter can give, making you look healthy and awake.

The first highlighter I’m going to talk about from Makeup Revolution is their Skin Kiss Highlighter in ‘Ice Kiss.’ (£5)

skin kiss.JPG

This highlighter is a bright white gold with a metallic sheen. The pan is massive, meaning you get a more than a decent amount of product. Although the shade is lovely, this is where I run out of positive things to say about this product. Its an almost powder-cream finish with an incredibly dense thick texture. When I dip my finger into this highlighter, I find that its doesn’t feel creamy or show up that pigmented. It feels chalky and definitely looked chalky when I applied it to the skin. When I did wear this highlighter, I found that after around 3 hours it had disappeared from my skin and left a very odd cast of white on my cheekbones. Generally, I just feel that this highlighter is very chunky and doesn’t last throughout the day, even with a primer on. Therefore, it receives a thumbs down from me.

Vivid Baked Highlighter in ‘Golden Lights’ (£3)

Don’t mind the broken lid, I’ve had this product for ages now and with travelling a lot, the lid broke 😦

This highlighter is one that has been in my collection for a really long time and I absolutely love it! Again, I’d describe this is a white gold shade with a metallic and shiny finish. Unlike the Ice Kiss highlighter, the texture of this is very creamy to the touch and highly pigmented. When swatched onto my hand and blended out, it gives a beautiful soft finish. On my skintone, which is olive-brown, it appears as more gold, but I personally prefer that. I love using this highlighter everywhere, on the cheekbones, tip of the nose, browbone, collarbone etc. If you don’t like a blinding highlighter, this may not be the one for you but I personally think everyone needs this for a night out. Cannot get my head around the fact that it only costs £3! I’ve tried highlighters from Benefit and MAC, but this outshines them for sure.

Liquid Highlighter in ‘Champagne’ (£6)

liquid highlighter

Ok so there seems to be a recent obsession with liquid highlighter from beauty bloggers and I have also shared the obsession. It all started when the Cover fx custom enhancer drops first came out. I remember watching a video of a girl swatching them on her hand, and thinking ‘WOW, they are so highly concentrated and beautiful, where do I get one?’ Unfortunately, these come with a hefty price tag of £34. I just can’t justify paying that much for a highlighter, especially with my student budget. I think Iconic London was the next brand to launch highlighter drops. Again very beautiful, yet very expensive. So I waited and waited until a cheaper alternative would be available and Makeup Revolution came throughhhh.

So let’s talk about this highlighter. It is described as ‘Extra dimension highly concentrated highlighter to enhance and give a luminous finish to your skin.’ I would definitely agree with this statement. This is a gold  highlighter when when applied onto the skin, looks very glowy and lovely. The trick is not to blend it out too much, just simply tap it onto the skin with your fingers lightly and it will look more intense. The only thing I’d say is to blend this in quickly. This is because if it is left on top of the skin for too long, I find when I go to blend it in, it becomes a bit dry and chalky looking on my skin. However, I generally really love this highlighter and I get lots of compliments when I wear it.

So this was my overall thought on the highlighters available from Makeup Revolution. They also have their ‘I heart makeup’ highlighters which I haven’t tried but look like dupes for the Too Faced highlighters, therefore I will try have to try these soon 🙂 I am also curious to see what other drugstore brands liquid highlighters are like in particular, since I have noticed that Barry M have released highlighter drops too.

Thankyou for reading and keep glowing and being fabulous!

Amna’s best songs of 2017

So it will be the 1st of January 2018 in 2 days and that honestly blows my mind. I cannot quite believe that 2017 has come so close to an end? where did all that time even go? Anyways, I’m really really hoping 2018 is going to be a good year for all of us. I’d say 2017 was an overall positive year for me and i can only hope for the same for 2018. The best cleanser for dry skin

The winter months have arrived and this can really take a toll on our skin. I have always been a sufferer of dry skin and when I was growing up, I had eczema too. I had been using the wrong products for my skin type, such as exfoliating scrubs and oil free cleansers on a daily basis, which made my dry skin even dryer! For the past year, I have been using Nivea Creme Face Wash as my morning face wash, however I have found a new cleanser which I have fallen in love with and i’ll explain why.

This is the Ultrabland facial cleanser from Lush. This cleanser is a beautiful silky waxy texture, which sits beautifully on top of dry flaky skin! You simply take a small dollop of it into palms, or you can do what i do and work it through your fingertips, and then massage it into your skin. The oily texture of the product comes from the essential oils, honey and beeswax in the product. Once you massage the cleanser into your skin and rinse it off with water, it leaves a slightly thick yet hydrating residue on the skin, leaving skin feeling supple and moisturised. I love how gentle this cleanser is and how it doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight and dried out like other cleansers can. The residue that it leaves on your skin doesn’t look greasy, but gives you the most beautiful golden glow.

This cleanser is designed to be able to take off your makeup, as the beeswax is designed to be the key ingredient in removing the makeup. It definitely works in removing makeup. But because I love micellar water so much for removing my makeup, I apply this in the morning, just before I am about to actually apply makeup. Another great point to make about this cleanser is that because it helps with dryness and adds a nice glow, I find that I don’t have to apply as much moisturiser to my face anymore.

This is what it looks like inside. Hopefully you can see what i mean about the texture of it being waxy. (Ignore the orange stains, those are from when i took off my foundation haha)

Lush claim that this cleanser is suitable for all skin types, however I think if you had very oily skin, this product may not work for you. On the other hand, this is an absolute must for all people who suffer from dry-extremely dry skin and I urge you to please go buy it! This retails at £7.95 for 45g.
